Funding and Contact Lenses

About a month ago I went to the doctors, because of a problem I was having with my ear. The problem was that  one of them, my left one, stuck out more than my right one. It's always bothered me, its becoming a problem and I just want to get rid of it (the problem, not the ear), so that's what I'm doing. The doctor said he'd make a request for funding, since I can't get it done on the NHS. He said that it wasn't sticking out severely but it is noticeable, and since it's just the one ear, I'm asymmetrical, so I'm more likely to get it than someone else whose ears both stuck out a little. The wait seemed so long, and I was beginning to lose hope, but then mum opened a letter of mine, and hey-presto, I've got funding! There hasn't been a date set yet, but hopefully it''l be before the end of this school year, so I won't have an ear sticking out on my prom photos, but long enough beforehand that I won't have a bandage around my head, either. I can't have it done in school time because school will only allow me three days off, and to be honest, I don't really want to take that long off because it's just too hard to catch up with some lessons. I won't really have any control over when the appointment is, but I really hope it isn't this half term: I really want to be in Psmith, and I have to have bandages on for at least a week after the operation, and dressings for a week after that, so I'm not even going to be happy if I have to go to school like that. Really, the optimum time is going to be the Christmas holidays, so that's what it's going to have to be.

I'm also considering getting contact lenses. Just FYI.
